Daniel Friedrichs

I conduct research on speech perception, production and synthesis. I am particularly interested in all aspects of acoustic phonetics and, more recently, the cortical dynamics of speech perception and speaker recognition. My initial research was on speech rhythm and forensic speaker identification. Currently, I am investigating the acoustic characteristics of vowels produced in different production styles by speakers of different gender and age at relatively high fundamental frequencies. I graduated from Humboldt University of Berlin in 2010 and received an MA from the University of Zurich in 2012. Since 2012 I am a PhD student in the Phonetics Lab at the University of Zurich. In 2014 I earned the teaching diploma 'Lehrdiplom für Maturitätsschulen (LfM)' from the University of Zurich.
