I am a forensic speech and audio scientist at the Zurich Forensic Science Institute (FOR), where I hold a permanent staff position. Under an institutional framework agreement between FOR and the University of Zurich, I am also affiliated with the Department of Computational Linguistics as a permanent guest. In this role, I remain actively involved in collaborative research projects and the supervision of student research at the University of Zurich.

I obtained a PhD in General Linguistics from the University of Zurich in 2017, at what was then the Institute of Comparative Linguistics. I subsequently spent four years as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Speech, Hearing & Phonetic Science at University College London (UCL) and the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge. Before joining FOR, I worked as a senior researcher in the Department of Computational Linguistics and was a member of the National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Evolving Language.

My work lies at the intersection of phonetics, speech science, and forensic speech and audio analysis. I investigate how speaker-specific information is encoded in the speech signal and how acoustic patterns relate to speech production, perception, vocal-tract anatomy, and articulatory movement. My current work focuses on forensic speaker comparison and the authentication of speech and audio recordings, including synthetic and voice-converted speech and other forms of audio manipulation. I also contribute to collaborative research on voice identity and multimodal speech production, linking acoustic data with articulatory, anatomical, and neurophysiological measurements. Across these areas, I aim to develop scientifically robust methods that advance fundamental research and can be applied in forensic practice.
