Individual Differences in Reading

Short description

In this study, participants read texts in German and afterwards answer comprehension questions. The participants take part in four sessions, two of which are Eye-Tracking and the remaining two are Self-Paced-Reading. During Eye-Tracking eye movements are being tracked, while the participant’s face is not. During Self-Paced-Reading participants can determine their own reading speed by moving through the text by pressing the space bar. Before the readings, participants complete a series of tests, such as IQ, memory, and language tests.

Requirements

  • Native speaker of German
  • 18+ years of age

Duration and reimbursement

The study is divided into four sessions, of which three take approximately 60 minutes and the fourth takes about 30 minutes.

Participants will be reimbursed with 50 CHF.
