pymovements Workshop

From July 20–22, the pymovements team met for a three-day workshop at the University of Zurich, the fourth of its kind enabled by the MultiplEYE COST Action. pymovements, an open-source Python package for eye-tracking research, serves as a central tool for preprocessing eye movement recordings within MultiplEYE. Nine core contributors, including maintainers, came together on site for focused design discussions and collaborative coding. Work centered on several ongoing developments: fixation drift correction, event visualization, BIDS conformity, and improving the existing reading measures, with a new background AOI measure and an accompanying tutorial. The workshop laid the groundwork for upcoming releases and gave the contributors valuable in-person time to work together. Several of these developments will feed directly into the MultiplEYE data analysis pipeline.
